OPTION FOUR: BAND WORKSHOP (1.5 hours duration) The band workshop is designed for string students who want to play in a band but haven’t had the opportunity to do so due to feeling restricted by their usually classical instrument. Bowed instruments can create a diverse range of sounds through effects such as delays and reverbs and the use of bowing, plucking and tapping the instrument. They rival the powerful sound of a guitar when soloing with a wah and distortion and can just as easily sit back in the band taking on the role of a groove player in a band. The workshop welcomes existing school rock bands to participate in the workshop alongside any interested students wanting to give it a go! All instrumentalists have the opportunity to learn basic improvisation techniques, play a solo and rotate between being a part of the rhythm section and the soloist/melody player. The workshop is suitable for up to thirty students. Although the Livewire Project has a string instrument focus, all instrumentalists are welcome to attend and participate in the workshops. OPTION FIVE: CUSTOMISED WORKSHOP/PERFORMANCE PACKAGES The Livewire Project will work directly with you to customise the perfect performance/workshop experience. Whether this means adding a workshop for VCE students or organising a week long intensive workshop series, the Livewire Project are happy to accommodate. A workshop aimed at VCE/HSC students can deliver fresh performance ideas whilst a week long workshop series can allow students to immerse themselves in exploring and building on ideas culminating in a concert at the end of the series. Feel free to contact the Livewire Project with specific requests or ideas.
